I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and found it an interesting read. I liked the author's philosophy that a supermom is not a mom who does everything right, nor is she a superhero, but rather a mom who loves her children and is there for them. The author shares humorous and touching moments from her own experience as a mom of four boys.
The chapters have titles such as Never Enough Time! Put Yourself on Time Out.
I laug I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and found it an interesting read. I laughed out loud in a few places and enjoyed the author's personal style.
I did not relate as well to the many prayers and scriptures in the book and all of the references to God and the Heavenly Father. The religious overtones was another aspect of the book. I do very much enjoy reading spiritual books, but the wording of the language in the book felt more religious than spiritual and I didn't personally relate to it. However, it didn't detract from the overall message of the book.
I read the parts of the book that reached out to me and skipped over the parts that didn't. I do recommend this as a book for moms who are battling feelings of inadequacy, insecurity, and emotional and spiritual fatigue - feelings that I think hit all moms at various times. I won this book through the First Reads program. Naturally in my frazzled mom state, I did not read the full description so I completely missed that this book is religious.
I am not a religious personbut my lack of reading comprehension is not the fault of the author so onto my review. Even though none of the religious info spoke to me, this is a good book about motherhood. It's like having a conversatio I won this book through the First Reads program.
It's like having a conversation with an experienced intelligent mom who has been there and done that and lived to tell the tale. She's raised four rambunctious boys and offers a lot of honest stories to help you learn from her experience. The lessons are good and were important to read: All common sense things to hear but we rarely hear them. Also, she did a great job of talking about motherhood without being remotely judgemental.

The spiritual approach to the inner power makes sense to me, especially when the issue is being a mother. I am not a mother yet, but I found this book very encouraging.
Inside you can find helpful prayers which gives power when you read aloud. I would write my review after I finished to read it, but I couldn't wait until this time. Apr 22, Karen rated it it was ok. This short book imparts an important message to mothers that the best way to be the mother you wish to be to your children is to remember your role as God's child and let Him be your strength.
